I am a sports massage and remedial therapist, based in Swanmore, Hampshire. I graduated from the London School of Sports Massage with a Level 5 Diploma in Sports and Remedial Massage.
I treat a wide range of clients and age groups, from office workers to athletes, those with physical jobs, issues caused by poor posture and people with conditions affecting the muscular system.
I come from an equestrian background. Having played, looked after and trained polo ponies for the last 18 years, I have a good understanding of the injuries and stress sustained by professional and amateur polo players. I have worked in horse racing for a similar amount of time and as a former point-to-point jockey I can also sympathise with the stress and injuries that occur within this sport.
Sports and remedial massage uses a range of massage and advanced soft tissue techniques to relieve pain and aid recovery from injury or occupational discomfort.
It is also an important part of pre and post event training, enhancing performance and reducing the risk of injury. By increasing muscle flexibility we reduce the risk of muscle tears.
Tension within muscles, ligaments and tendons causes stress to joints, which in turn limits mobility. Sports massage stretches and relaxes these tissues to help gain full range of movement.
Techniques used during sports massage can also correct muscular (postural) imbalances and promote the health of muscle tissue through stretching and flushing, which improves circulation and lymphatic drainage.
Massage can be very helpful for clients with long-term conditions by regularly maintaining good muscle health through massage, offering much needed relaxation and pain relief in between sessions.

"Being a self employed farrier it is so important for me to be able to stand up to the physical nature of my work. Several months ago I was enduring a very bad lower back, I was seriously starting to worry about the future of my business; this was when I contacted Christine. I was instantly impressed with the way she assessed my individual needs, creating a treatment plan to relieve the short term pain and more importantly work towards improving several points for the long term. I have been working as a farrier for 12 years now and can honestly say I have never been so comfortable at work since I was a young apprentice. My daily work is now pain free. Thanks to Christine I have a much improved understanding of my posture and the importance of core stability and this has allowed me to help myself in between my weekly visits. I would not hesitate to recommend Christine, I have visited other sports massage therapists in the past but can honestly say no one has ever addressed my individual needs or worked harder to rectify them. I am truly grateful to her, I now feel able to continue with my busy business and my future again seems more secure."

"I started seeing Christine following problems with a reoccurring tennis elbow issue. Having seen other practitioners I was expecting just the normal treatment of the pain area but she took a fresh approach to the problem, and looked beyond just the point of pain. Through working with her she has managed to pretty much eradicate the pain enabling me to continue to participate in my sport relatively pain free. I can’t recommend her highly enough."

"Excellent service, really Really takes the time to understand what the problem is. After receiving long term physio on my Achilles for tendonitis to no avail, I started seeing Christine and in two sessions I felt 90% better than I had after all the other treatments I've recieived and now it is almost better, She has also stopped my knees from crunching when I walk upstairs! Christine goes the extra mile to sort you out."
